The Albion Jazz Ensemble is comprised of students from Albion College selected by audition each fall. The ensemble performs eight to ten concerts per school year, including two shows each semester on the Albion College campus. Additionally, the band has a monthly engagement at Cascarelli’s Restaurant in downtown Albion. The Jazz Ensemble plays a wide range of repertoire, from classic big band compositions by Duke Ellington, Count Basie, and Billy Strayhorn to modern arrangements by contemporary composers such as Bob Mintzer, Ellen Rowe, Pat Metheny, and Matt Harris.
The Albion College Jazz Ensemble is under the direction of Dr. James Ball.
